Symptoms of Anxiety in General

Panic Attacks
Panic Disorder is characterized by recurrent, unexpected panic attacks. A panic attack is a sudden surge of overwhelming fear or discomfort that reaches its peak within minutes.

Heart palpitations or rapid heart rate

Sweating or trembling

Shortness of breath or chest pain

Dizziness or lightheadedness

Nausea or abdominal distress

Social Anxiety Disorder (Social Phobia)
Social Anxiety Disorder is an intense fear of social situations where one might be judged, embarrassed, or scrutinized by others.
Symptoms

Intense fear of speaking or performing in front of others

Avoidance of social interactions

Extreme self-consciousness and fear of embarrassment

Blushing, sweating, or trembling in social situations

Difficulty making eye contact

Fear of being judged or humiliated
Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD)
OCD involves unwanted, intrusive thoughts (obsessions) and repetitive behaviors or mental acts (compulsions) that the person feels driven to perform.
Symptoms

Fear of contamination or germs
-
Excessive cleaning or handwashing
-
Compulsive counting, checking, or arranging items
-
Intrusive thoughts about harm or danger
-
Time-consuming rituals to alleviate distress
-
Difficulty controlling obsessive thoughts or compulsive actions
Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) Mild to moderate
PTSD can develop after someone experiences or witnesses a traumatic event, such as a natural disaster, accident, or assault.
Symptoms

Flashbacks or nightmares about the trauma
-
Avoidance of places, people, or situations that remind them of the event
-
Hypervigilance or being easily startled
-
Emotional numbness or detachment
-
Irritability, anger outbursts, or difficulty sleeping
Health Anxiety
Health Anxiety can develop after a health scare or if someone close to the client has been diagnosed with a terminal illness or died unexpectedly
Symptoms

Inability to stay focussed on a task or job
-
Trouble sleeping
-
Restlessness and/or agitation
-
Constantly checking or scanning body for change, an example of this would be if a lump or bruise was found, constant checking to see if it had changed or got bigger or changed shape or colour multiples times per day.

Making numerous appointments to see GP and, or, dentist.

Feeling unsettled straight after a GP appointment that you had forgotten a symptom that may change the GP’s diagnosis
-
Constantly googling symptoms looking for peace of mind which never comes
